Soma Sanctum is intended as a sanctuary for people who find themselves in difficult moments of life. I hold special competency and care for people struggling with their postpartum period, with trauma resulting from grief and loss of loved ones, sexual assault, violence or discrimination based on sex and gender expression and racism. If any of these apply to you, I warmly and humbly welcome you as an individual, within your partnership or within a small group into a holistic, somatic trauma healing process. Together, at the pace of trust, we will attend to the emotional, spiritual, mental, physiological and social dimensions of your experiences which need care.

Depending on your unique intentions, desires, curiosities and needs for your own healing process, we will employ the use of Somatic Experiencing, TRE (Tension & Trauma Release Exercises), somatic bodywork and/or Somatic Sex Education. These methodologies are rooted in the intelligence of survival and healing while restoring and broadening our capacity to connect and be well when life shakes us to the core.

Not sure if what you’re experiencing is really ‘trauma’? Maybe something just feels ‘off’ or you just aren’t feeling like yourself. Our bodyminds speak to us, even when we don’t exactly understand why. Physical ‘symptoms’ like anxiety, digestion issues, depression, panic attacks, chronic pain, sudden bouts of rage or fatigue can feel like they come out of no where or are unrelated to emotional, relational, mental or spiritual issues of our past. It’s ok if you don’t know if what you are experiencing is ‘trauma’. If you are having any of these or other symptoms and have struggled or are struggling with grief and loss, sexual assault, violence or discrimination and/or racism, I invite you reach out. Let’s see what wisdom may want to be known.

If you have specific questions, please be welcomed to email me at info@somasanctum.org. If you feel ready to move forward with sessions, please proceed here to fill out the initial intake form.

With love and solidarity,

Lorie
